Jara Nguyen
Architect · Prague
I was born in Benešov, studied architecture in Prague and spent a year studying in Australia. It taught me to listen carefully — to the place, the client, and the craft.
I studied architecture and urbanism at the Czech Technical University in Prague, taking my degree in 2013. A year at the University of Adelaide in Australia meant a different climate and a different scale — and the same questions: light, shade, and how a house is lived in.
I gained my practice at Cigler Marani Architects in Prague and then at the international studio Chapman Taylor — large projects, hard deadlines, and the craft of coordination that serves me today even on a family house.
Since 2021 I run my own practice in Prague. I design family houses, apartment renovations and interiors — at a scale where I know every detail and every craftsperson on site.
Approach
A house, for me, is a tool for slowing down. Fewer corners, more light. Materials that age quietly. A detail you don't have to see to feel.
